The "Stories of China Retold in English Challenge" is the first humanistic and comprehensive activity aimed at young people at home and abroad, with the theme of spreading Chinese culture. It aims to "enhance the influence and dissemination of Chinese civilization, adhere to the position of Chinese culture, tell Chinese stories well, spread Chinese voices well, and promote Chinese culture to the world". Through recitation, speeches，dramatic monologues and Chinese talents show，it provide a platform for young people to promote Chinese culture and communicate with the world. Since 2020, a total of 560000 Chinese and foreign young people were attracted to join in it .
The 4th "Stories of China Retold in English Challenge" was officially launched on December 10th,2023 and the launch ceremony of the fourth event received high-frequency coverage from media such as CCTV, People's Daily, and Xinhua News Agency.

Pre-selection stage of East China Normal University:
Scan the registration QR code below to register (there is a specific registration process at the end of the article). Participants need to fill in valid basic information and submit a 1.5 minute video work.
Video format:
The video file has a maximum duration of 1.5 minutes and supports formats such as mp4, flv, mkv, and rmvb video files. The maximum video file size is 200MB. Most of the reciters appear on camera without covering their faces, wearing sunglasses, masks, hats, etc.
In the spring semester of 2024, an offline competition will be held, and the contestants selected from the offline competition can directly enter the Shanghai regional competition. The specific details will be notified within the group.

Event Awards
Honorary Certificate: All contestants who break through the local stage (participating in urban stage, regional stage, and Chinese and foreign youth exhibitions) and their instructors can receive an honorary certificate certified by the organizing committee.
The prizes for this event are even more abundant. Although the event is purely public welfare, in order to encourage everyone to fully showcase their talents and talents, the organizer will provide cash and service rewards during the Chinese and foreign youth performance stage.
Exhibition of Style: During the performance stage of Chinese and foreign youth, contestants will participate in the recording of the award ceremony, and the special program "China Story Collection" will be broadcasted on China Education Television.
