On December 27th of 2025, the “2025 AEBS Enterprise Mentor Meeting” for 2025 newly-enrolled undergraduate and master’s students at the Hall on the first floor of Building A10, Zizhu International Education Park, was successfully hosted by Asia Europe Business School of East China Normal University.
This year marks the ninth year of AEBS’s Enterprise Mentor Program. As a core component of the School’s “double-mentor system” (academic mentor & enterprise mentor), the program has long upheld the belief that “high-quality education goes beyond the classroom”. It is dedicated to building a close bridge between students and industry leaders. With mentors’ professional guidance, students are encouraged to develop early career awareness, clarify their development goals, and strengthen practical capabilities. At the same time, mentors serve as role models, sharing experience and demonstrating professional quality to support students’ all-round growth. Through deepening university–industry collaboration, the program aims to align talent development with real market demand, ultimately creating shared value for all parties involved.
The event was attended by Chinese Dean Prof. He Jiaxun, Program Director Prof. Wu Yi, and Enterprise Relations Ms. Tang Xiaoying, together with 41 enterprise mentors from a wide range of frontier industries, including consulting and professional services, intelligent manufacturing, marketing, biopharmaceuticals, financial services, and information technology. The Meeting was hosted by Song Jiayin, an undergraduate student from the Class of 2028 majoring in Business Administration.

Programme Introduction: Anchoring in the AI Era and Building
a Shared Growth Mindset

At the beginning of the event, Dean He Jiaxun delivered opening remarks. He expressed sincere gratitude to the enterprise mentors for their generous commitment and to the students for their enthusiastic participation. He noted that as AI continues to reshape business logic, business education must respond proactively and constantly refine its approach to talent development.Dean He encouraged students, under their mentors’ guidance, to focus on three core dimensions of learning. First, to understand the fundamental logic of business, recognising its role as a major driving force in society, and to reflect on the unique responsibilities and contributions of business education in the AI era. Second, to go deep into a chosen industry, gaining insight into its operational mechanisms, competitive dynamics, and future trends, thereby laying a solid foundation for career decisions. Third, to Comprehend the value of life, integrating corporate development goals with personal life planning, embracing a long-term mindset, and growing into talent that combines professional competence with humanistic sensitivity. He also encouraged enterprise mentors to not only empower students’ professional practice, but to support their long-term career journeys and lifetime development, jointly cultivating future-ready business professionals.
In the appointment ceremony that followed, Dean He presented certificates to the enterprise mentors and took group photos with them.

Afterwards, Prof.Wu Yi, Program Director, delivered remarks on the program’s core philosophy and future vision. She emphasised that the Enterprise Mentor Program serves as a key link connecting campus and industry: it provides students with authentic industry insights and practical opportunities, while also offering companies a valuable pipeline of future talent with both international outlook and professional competence. She encouraged mentors and students to build trust through sincere communication, and to achieve mutual learning through sustained interaction, and turning the program into a high-quality platform for shared growth.

Next, Ms Tang Xiaoying gave a detailed overview of the program. Supported by clear data, she highlighted its achievements since its launch in 2017: the program has benefited nearly 800 students and brought together more than 200 outstanding enterprise mentors. For this cohort, 163 students from 42 countries and regions participated, with 41 industry leaders joining or renewing their mentor roles. She concluded by indicating the importance of “Initiative” and “Persistence”, encouraging students to explore proactively, ask questions boldly, and turn the program into practical personal growth.
Mentor Spotlight: Industry Leaders Sharing Guidance for Growth
During the mentor introduction session, enterprise mentors took turns coming on stage, or joined via video, to share their career journeys, company backgrounds, and areas of expertise. Many expressed their commitment to supporting students in multiple ways, including career planning guidance, industry trend interpretation, and practical skill development. They encouraged students to stay curious and eager to learn, balancing theory with practice in business studies and daring to step beyond their comfort zones. The mentors’ sincere and concise sharing, offered students a clearer picture of different industries and laid a strong foundation for the interaction that followed.

Group Discussions: Deep Industry Exploration and Thoughtful Exchange
Moving forward, mentors and students moved to five breakout rooms on different floors of Building A1 for industry-focused group discussions. The discussions covered six highly relevant fields: consulting and professional services; intelligent manufacturing, robotics and industrial automation; marketing, branding and consumer industries; biopharmaceuticals and medical technology; financial services, investment and industrial capital; and information technology and artificial intelligence. Students selected breakout rooms based on their interests and career plans, engaging in in-depth exchanges with mentors. The atmosphere was lively. Participants discussed industry development, job-hunting strategies, internship opportunities, and future planning. Drawing on real industry cases, mentors answered questions and offered targeted suggestions, while students listened attentively and asked thoughtful questions. Many students shared that this close interaction not only helped resolve career-related confusion, but also allowed them to experience the first-hand professionalism and personal charisma of industry leaders, making the session highly rewarding.

Nine years of dedicated effort, and the torch is carried forward. AEBS at ECNU remains committed to integrating education with industry, and the Enterprise Mentor Program continues to build a bridge from campus to the workplace. The successful meeting session provided a solid platform for mentor–mentees engagement and marked a promising opening to the ninth cohort of the program. We look forward to seeing students walk with initiative and persistence, deepen expertise, broaden visions, and grow into business talent with innovative leadership and international competitiveness, ready to spread their wings and soar in the future.按维 关注亚欧更多资讯吧!
