AEBS team takes out 1st and 2nd Prizes at Global Entrepreneurship Competition!

On May 18th, the first Global International Student Entrepreneurship Competition in China, specifically the AIGC Shanghai Special Tournament, successfully concluded in Shanghai. Teams led by Maxwell Ziwa and Ruby Lim, international students from the Asia-Europe Business School at East China Normal University, stood out in the fierce competition. They won the first and second prizes, empowered by the alumni of the Neo Bay Project.


This international competition attracted more than 100 students from over 30 countries, including Bangladesh, Rwanda, Nigeria, Afghanistan, and Morocco. Six teams reached the finals, including three from our school, to participate in the roadshow.



The first Global International Student Entrepreneurship Competition in China, the AIGC Shanghai Special Competition, is a science and technology event planned for international students. It provides a platform for students worldwide to showcase their creativity and achievements. The competition aims to tap into their innovation potential and cultivate a new generation of entrepreneurs with an international vision and social responsibility.

After months of competition, participants from over 30 countries demonstrated their insights and practical applications of AIGC technology through projects like intelligent medical care, digital private doctors, sign language interpretation, autonomous driving, elderly companion systems, and AI fashion models.


The judging panel included industry leaders and experts from top enterprises and academic institutions such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, SoonSolid International, Huawei, and Intel. They offered valuable guidance and professional comments to the participants. The competition tested the participants' understanding and application of AIGC technology and their innovative spirit and practical ability.



Maxwell's team won first place with their "Sign Language Interpreter Robot."This robot addresses communication barriers for people with hearing impairments by accurately recognizing gestures and providing real-time translations. Using Intel AIPC architecture, the robot offers a low-cost, high-accuracy solution to promote social inclusion.

Ruby Lim's team won second place with their exoskeleton rehabilitation robot project. This robot assists in muscle exercise training and injury recovery for the elderly and disabled. It collects and analyzes patient movement data to provide personalized rehabilitation plans and monitor progress in real-time, enhancing patient autonomy and reducing care costs.
